Social Infrastructure
Social infrastructure includes assets such as hospitals, convention centers, court houses and police stations which are often developed within Public Private Partnership (PPP) or Private Finance Initiative (PFI) models, facilitate private sector participation in the financing of these types of assets.
The following interests comprise our portfolio of PPPs:
Peterborough Hospital, Europe (30%)
- A 612-bed acute hospital, a separate 102-bed mental health unit and an integrated care centre
- Long-term concession with UK National Health Trust
Surrey Pretrial Services Centre Expansion Project, British Columbia (50%)
- 180-cell detention centre in Surrey, British Columbia, with significant renovation and capital improvements to the existing facility
- Long-term operating concession following construction which is expected to be completed at the end of 2013
Quinte Consolidated Courthouse, Ontario (50%)
- 173,000 square foot courthouse in Belleville, Ontario
- Long-term operating concession following construction which is expected to be completed in mid-2013
